Why Do We Keep Coming Back?

I get this question a lot from clients, especially now with everyone going through so much. Past life research shows that we've returned to this planet again and again...but why? I can't tell you how many times I've heard, "I'm not coming back! I'm done!"

The reasons why a Soul would choose to reincarnate are varied, but the main reason is to learn and have experiences...good and bad. Your Soul wants to experience the full spectrum of human emotion from devastating heartbreak, grief and sorrow to pure joy and all consuming love. There are so many paths a human could choose to follow, so the Soul signs up for life after life to try them all.

Another reason we reincarnate is to balance our karma. Most people hear the "k-word" and think punishment, but it's more about education. What you put out comes back. If you live a life as a selfless giver that looks after everyone, taking care of everyone else's needs but not your own, then you have karma. And in the next life your karma is to be someone that needs to be taken care of. Remember, you can't just give and not receive. So, you just might be paired up with a person who was a selfish thief that only took from others, so their karma in the next life would be to take care of you. Energy seeks balance, and subsequent lifetimes will naturally work to restore that equilibrium.

You may choose to reincarnate because you have unfulfilled contracts with other souls. I've met clients who have had one reason for incarnating. They had to sacrifice their life to save another. That was the contract. They were put to the test to see if they could do it, and they did. We can have far less dramatic contracts but at their core, they are commitments to show up and help another soul learn and evolve.

The other big reason we come back and the focus of my SRT work is because of the energetic charge we hold in this dimension. Over the course of your life you will generate energetic charge on someone or something. This energy will energetically tether you to that person, place, or thing. And if you live the remainder of your life without releasing that charge, you are pulled right back into this dimension to resolve it.

The reason?

Energy can only be cleared in the dimension where it was created.

Let me give you an example, imagine a past life where you are married to a man who has an affair and cheats on you with your own sister. Immediately you would most likely have strong feelings/energy toward your husband and your sister. If things escalate to the point where you get divorced and they become a couple you might hold feelings of anger, betrayal, unforgiveness, hatred, etc. If you can't forgive and release the energy you hold toward them, then you'll come back and try it again. Not as punishment, but for learning. This time you might come back in the mother-son dynamic because you believe it might be easier to forgive him if he's your child. And your sister will play the part of your daughter for the same reason. But in this life, for whatever reason, they may abandon you to let you die alone, an old woman. Here again you die holding anger, betrayal, unforgiveness, and hatred just like before. That same energy pulls you back in for another round with those same Souls, so you try to come at it differently this time. What if we're not family but just co-workers?? And on the story goes.

SRT is a process where we can look back in the storyline of the Soul, find out what happened in past lives, name the energy that is being held, then ask Spirit to clear and release it. With the permission of your High Self, Spirit will not only clear the Soul of all this discordant energy, but it will also clear the energy held in the vibrational archive of the Soul known as the Akashic Records.

The important thing to remember is this: you didn't fail in past lives - you were human. And sometimes it's just too hard to forgive and let go. This is one of the reasons why we can't remember our past lives because if you did, you'd never let it go. The other reason we forget is because this wouldn't be much of a test if you came in with the answers.
