Why Travel & Family Trigger Old Energy

I get asked by clients how often I clear myself, and the answer is: more often than you’d believe.

I can usually tell when I’ve picked up some energy or when something just feels “off” and I need to consciously sit down and deal with it. But there are two things I’ve noticed that can trigger a clearing almost immediately: traveling and visiting family.

I never leave my SRT stuff at home because traveling will almost always activate some program or energy that is coming up to be healed. I’ve realized that certain places can bring up past-life memories, which in turn activate otherwise dormant programs.

Haven’t you ever felt drawn to a certain place, almost as though you’ve been there before?

In many cases, you have been there before, and there may be unresolved energy that keeps pulling you back. I was called back many times to a place where I never learned how to step into my power. Another place held the energy of a tragic death. And another carried immense shame and restrictive energy that needed to be released. Just hearing the names of certain old cities can make your heart sing and others give you the ick. Athens, London, Jerusalem, Rome, Cairo...cities that are thousands of years old and full of old memories for many of us.

This may be why someone can feel really “off” after a trip. Something has shifted, but you don’t necessarily know what. The volume may get turned down once you settle back into life at home, but the energy can still be playing quietly in the background.

The other big trigger involves family.

Our souls tend to run in the same groups, and we incarnate with many of the same souls in different roles from lifetime to lifetime. So when your mother in this life may have played the role of your son, uncle, grandmother, husband, or even a child you lost in another life, you’re bound to carry some energy with that person.

It’s no surprise that holidays can get heated. We may all be running programs on one another from this life and, potentially, many others. Sometimes a person’s mere presence brings up old feelings, beliefs, judgments, hurt, or pain.

They may have been absolutely lovely to you in this lifetime, yet for some reason they can still bring out the worst in you.

When clients tell me they are deeply bothered by someone in their family, it’s an immediate clue for me that there may be deeper energy between them worth exploring. The goal is neutrality. So if you have strong negative feelings toward someone, it may be worth uncovering why.

As you might have guessed, I recently traveled to see family, and it opened up a whole bunch of things for me to look at.

I cleared stuff I had never uncovered in all the years I’ve been doing this work. It’s truly remarkable to witness the depth of the soul. Just when you think you’ve found it all, think again.

But that may be the gift of family and travel: they reveal parts of ourselves we didn’t even know were there.

And really, who better than family to reveal our blind spots?

If what I’ve shared resonates with you, please schedule some time to get cleared. Let’s explore why that person bothers you so much, or why you keep feeling pulled back to the same places again and again.

Life may be trying to get your attention.

Listen.
